Growth, expansion and transformation require us to review our old habits, beliefs, mindset and ego. We build an armour, image and a persona based on what we think we should be in this world, we hold on to things, patterns and our comfort zones to keep us safe. Life in its mysterious beauty will create experiences that will push you into an empty void, a moment in time where nothing makes sense and it feels as though you are caught between an ending and a new beginning. These experiences at times can often feel painful, dark, uncomfortable and fearful, but they are necessary for our transformation and awakening. During this time, we often ask ourselves profound questions about the meaning of our time and if what we are doing really serves us on a deeper level. Our souls are always seeking growth, expansion and wanting to reach new heights in our awakening of consciousness, on the other hand our ego, pride and image wants so desperately to hold on to how things are, scared of the unknown, afraid of change and how change will ultimately affect our lives.
So often we are conflicted between our inner and outer world. When we reside outside of ourselves that is when our lives become a conflicting battle field, with no sense of self, no self-esteem and self-worth. In not knowing our own worth we hand over our sacred keys to external forces and we become passengers without an awareness of how our choices and decisions can empower different outcomes.
So often we end up feeling the external forces of fear, chaos and anxiety controlling our daily lives. With no self-awareness we can easily become swept away by the external energy, where doom and gloom can so often appear to be the only highlight of the day, erasing all the good that is also taking place in our world. When looking at the principal of Yin and Yang, we have to have light and dark in our world, it’s alarming to me that we often focus on the dark more that the light.
We are taking in information on a daily basis through our senses, we are information sponges, and if we are not careful, most of the feelings we are feeling when examined are not our own but from those daily narratives around us and outside of ourselves. I have learnt that self-awareness, spending time in nature, meditation, journaling, allowing less time for external stimulation, filtering what I listen to and who I surround myself with has helped me greatly. I have built a stronger relationship with my own intuition, my own intentions, desires and what I want to create for my own life through the power of stillness. The more in tune you become with the rhythm, flow and essence of your life, you are in turn building your self-esteem, self-worth and trusting that your journey is unfolding as it should be for your highest potential and evolution. In my experience nothing in life works unless you do.
