Today whilst having coffee with my husband, we stole a precious moment together. These days with our family, work and juggling all the balls up in the air all at once it can often become a challenge organising romantic time together. My husband and I had a conversation about rethinking how we define “romantic time together”. Often we place so much emphasis on getting dressed up, booking a restaurant, organising a babysitter and trying to stay awake in the moment when in reality one can often feel tired and exhausted. I have also noticed so often we end up talking about family, work and the daily grind.
We have learnt to capture precious moments in the “real moment”. We make the best of our time together as a couple and we create extraordinary moments in the ordinary. I believe in savouring precious moments off camera and enjoying them fully. Spending time with my husband today whilst leaving my phone unattended and not taking social media photos just to prove our experience was a truly magical feeling. I have learnt to let go of placing pressure on creating specific moments and trying to make them feel and appear perfect. I rather enjoy taking advantage of every opportunity great and small and enjoying the experience as it unfolds. The most precious resource we all have is time, spending time with people we love and who loves us back is a priceless gift.
