Finding a few minutes in your day to reflect and observe your own thoughts can be quite challenging to say the least. With so many distractions and chaos surrounding us on a daily basis finding stillness can become almost impossible to silence the mind and turn down the volume and noise inside an over stimulated brain. This dilemma has been a struggle for many and most certainly a battle for myself. When I think of how exhausted we as human beings have become especially these days trying to do so much yet forgetting to refuel our tanks, it is shocking on so many levels and disturbing to say the least how we neglect our own mental health, body and general wellbeing. We have access to everything yet we don’t enjoy anything, how strange don’t you think? Trying to jump from one high to the next without a pause of reflection and acknowledgment.
Creating sacred moments for silence during your day is a critical part of creating awareness of your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Often times we wait until we become overwhelmed, frustrated and angry to acknowledge the importance of finding a few precious moments in one’s day to be still and reflect. I don’t believe for a second that we can find true meaning and value in chaos and distraction. It is important to check in to your own thoughts as often as possible and listen to your own navigation system to truly know where to go instead of going nowhere on one tank of fuel that is sure to run out if we don’t use it wisely. Value silence and create moments of awareness during your day. Getting to know yourself and having a true understanding of who you are will guide you to living your life without wasting precious time.
