Finding peace in your life is like surrendering all. For the longest time I have been restless trying to achieve my goals, dreams and my vision for my life and I have worked hard to ensure that I achieve my goals. In achieving my goals I have never really appreciated how far I have come, always wanting more, always wanting to be more ambitious than before and not being grateful for all my blessings along the way.
So many of us can relate to having our own personal demons, our own insecurities and battling our own internal negative self-talk. Over the past few years I have worked with my spiritual teacher to help me awaken my spiritual path. I believe that it is of utmost importance to continue working on your personal growth especially on the spiritual essence of who you are.
I have learnt and I am still learning that my life is not a competition or destination, my life is an ever-changing journey. When we place value on the destination and when we have achieved our goals, we become restless with what’s next instead of cherishing the moment and celebrating how far we have come. I have learnt that my identity and self-worth does not come from what is taking place on the outside, instead my true essence and who I truly am as a person comes from within.
I am learning to find peace within myself and to cherish the small things, to not be so hard on myself and to be kind to my mind, body and soul. Loving yourself starts with the person in the mirror. Finding peace in your life starts with you and letting go of what you think you should be and how you should be perceived by others. You are the driver of your own vehicle take charge and enjoy the ride.
