Mirror mirror on the wall what does beauty mean to us all? A question I ask myself often when I look in the mirror. What does feeling beautiful mean? We grow up with images in our minds of what beauty should look like. When I look at myself in the mirror I have many moments where truthfully it’s so easy to find the bits about yourself that you “don’t like” for some reason self-judgement comes naturally and self-confidence can often become harder to channel. Think about it, next time you look in the mirror who do you see?
As I grow older I have come to realise that true beauty and self-confidence comes from a place of knowing who you are in the world. It’s so much fun getting dressed up, why not! But at the same time external beauty is one thing and true internal beauty the kind that is so powerful is another. When all is said and done, can we feel sexy, fearless and beautiful in the moments of wearing no makeup; in our not so glamorous external image and in the moments where we strip it all back and we feel raw and vulnerable.
What do you see in the mirror? Do you see your natural beauty? Do you see that there is only one miraculous you? Do you see that every ounce of your beauty is your beauty?
We live in a society that often dictates to us what looking and feeling beautiful should look like. We hold images in our subconscious mind of how we should dress, what our physical body should look like and how our external image should be in order to truly feel beautiful.
Can you imagine if you dropped the image you held onto in your subconscious mind and you replaced it with an image of “you” the one and only beautiful “you”. Wow, can you imagine how free you will feel. There is only one you, don’t waste your time trying to be anyone else.
