Building a business you love is encompassing of so many different facets, it may appear glamourous from the outside. As business owners we have to become realistic about our goals, vision and purpose.
I can honestly say building my platform over the years has been a slow and steady process, and let me tell you I am not a patient individual so I had to learn over the years to practice patience. I remember trying to be the “Jack of all trades” and ultimately leading to becoming the “Master of none”. Years later instead of trying to do everything, trying to become every trend and trying to be someone else I have discovered that you have to find your lane and own it! You will attract your ideal clients and customers when you have a clear understanding of what you have to offer and how your product, business or service is going to help your customers.
Trust me it’s hard to hover over your business and take an objective helicopter approach. I have learnt to work with mentors who can help me grow in areas I am unfamiliar with and don’t fully understand. I am only as wise as the wisdom I have accumulated and learnt. In order to grow and expand you have to learn, grow and stretch yourself beyond your “known comfort zone”. There will be areas in business that are not in your level of comprehension and understanding and that is perfectly fine, we were not meant to know it all.
I am learning and continue to learn, there are moments of pure pleasure and deep frustration at times with running your own business. I have learnt to steer clear from content online or other that are unrealistic playing on creating feelings of inadequacy and not feeling like you have enough or that you are good enough with what you have accomplished. As a business owner and individual I understand the power and influence content has on our lives. I am the gatekeeper to my sanity and I will only invest in information that is realistic and encompassing of the truth and essence of the journey.
