I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation enough for having Lauren Clemett in my life. I met Lauren Clemett in October 2016 on my podcast show. What a truly remarkable woman she is with a wealth of knowledge, experience and precious wisdom. I enjoyed our podcast conversation about personal branding. I booked a session with Lauren to help me with my website and podcast. At the time I was new to the podcasting scene and unfamiliar with how I wanted to position myself. Through trail and error, learning and growing, I have built my platform to what it is today. Lauren has seen my tears, frustrations, days when I felt like throwing in the towel, as the business side of things is not my strength. Truth be told at times it can get lonely especially when you are working from home.
I am passionate about creating and presenting content. I am 1000% passionate about helping people to feel good about themselves in their lives. I know what my strengths are and I had to learn how manage things I had no idea how to do. I have found as a start-up that we wear so many hats and often these hats can become overwhelming. I have shed many tears and had many conversations over the years with Lauren about the challenges of becoming the captain of your own ship. I believe strongly that when we learn more we can do more. The start-up journey can be both rewarding and overwhelming at times. Like anything in life there will be good days and bad. I believe in keeping it real (no BS), I am not a fan of the phrase “fake it until you make it”. I think this phrase can really create a silent entrepreneurial death within business owners. Leaving people feeling like they should be perfect and be successful all the time. When inside they might be breaking under pressure. But if they mention that they are not coping well, they feel like a failure and no one likes to feel like a failure or being judged for not succeeding.
I remember attending events and whilst looking around the room and chatting with people I felt like we see glitz and glamour on the outside. We hear phrases like “my business is successful and profitable” but yet it feels like a big façade intuitively. I have stepped back from attending many events and have become extremely selective on what I say “yes” to. A big non-negotiable for me is that I don’t waste my precious time on things that doesn’t serve me. I have a beautiful family and I value my time so I make sure I use my time effectively and with great respect.
I thank you Lauren for opening my eyes and teaching me so many tools along the way to help me cope. You are my sounding board and my shoulder to lean on with my personal branding story. I adore you and appreciate your support. I look forward to working with you for many years to come. You understand my dream, my vision and my goals. You keep me on track and you guide me with your business wisdom. Thank you!
